Full app reading for one pet care practice
A five-to-eight-day reading of one clinic, kennel, or grooming app against the paper lists that still run the room.
This is the flagship reading at Webcornerbase. It is for the owner or head nurse of one small-animal clinic, boarding kennel, cattery, or grooming room who already has a pet care app and cannot tell whether missed boosters, empty runs, or Saturday no-shows belong to the software or to the way the room still works on paper.
Who it is for
A practice that books vaccines, desexing, boarding, or grooms through an app, and still keeps at least one parallel list: a vaccine register, a kennel exercise book, a WhatsApp thread with owners, or a whiteboard of tomorrow’s dogs. You do not need a large chain. You need one login, one reception desk, and permission for us to sit through a live morning.
It is not for companies building a new pet care app from scratch, and it is not a substitute for your vendor’s help desk.
What you receive
A written reading, in plain English, that names:
- which lists the app actually holds (boosters, boarding occupancy, grooming slots, pet profiles, microchip fields)
- which lists still live on paper or in a personal phone
- where a pet owner drops out (the vaccine step, the weekend boarding form, the coat-length question)
- what the staff member at the desk does when the screen and the animal disagree
The result is a set of observations you can take back to your vendor, your nurses, or your kennel hands — not a new login and not a redesigned product.
Scope
Included:
- one scoping call (about forty minutes) to name the app, the rooms, and the lists that worry you
- one on-site block of four to six hours in Kuching or within a day’s drive in Sarawak
- reading of export files or screens you already have: reminder logs, no-show marks, occupancy snapshots, pet-profile samples
- a written reading of eight to twelve pages, plus a ninety-minute evening briefing for the people who run the desk
Excluded:
- rewriting the app, installing anything, or speaking to your vendor on your behalf unless you ask in writing and we quote that extra hour
- mystery-shopping other practices without their knowledge
- medical advice, boarding welfare audits, or grooming technique
Who does the work
Aishah Rahman leads clinic readings. Daniel Tan leads boarding and cattery readings. Mei Ling Wong joins when the drift sits on the grooming table. One of them is in the waiting room; the others may read exports at Office 7.
How the days run
- Scoping call: you name the app, the species mix, and the list that keeps going wrong.
- Preparation: you pull a week of reminder logs, the paper register for the same week, and a staff roster so we do not land on a public holiday.
- Floor hours: we sit at reception or in the kennel corridor, watch live bookings, and match each animal to the screen.
- Desk hours at Office 7: we line up the week you gave us against what we saw.
- Briefing: we walk the written reading with whoever actually unlocks the clinic in the morning.
Duration and place
Five to eight working days from the scoping call to the briefing, depending on how scattered the paper lists are. Floor hours happen at your address. Peninsula practices can send scans and join the briefing by a video call; we still prefer one person on the floor when travel is possible.
What you prepare
A quiet chair that is not in the way of a cat carrier. Login access limited to the reports you already use — we do not need administrator rights. Consent from staff who will be watched at the desk. If Sunday boarding lives in an exercise book, that book comes to the table on day one.
Constraints
We read one app and one physical site per engagement. A second branch is a second reading. We do not work during a rabies clinic, a charity sterilisation day, or any morning you already know will be all-hands. If the app vendor forbids exporting reminder logs, we read what the desk can print, and we say so in the opening pages.
Price basis
Quoted after the scoping call. Kuching floor hours start from RM 4,800 for the full reading; travel beyond the city adds a day rate and overnight costs as listed on Rates. A booking deposit holds the visit week.
